The compressor is a pump in your air conditioning system, responsible for pushing refrigerant gas from the evaporator coil to the condenser coil. The compressor can occasionally become damaged if liquid refrigerant makes it into the system, which can happen due to low refrigerant levels or a frozen coil. If the compressor is damaged, it will not be able to circulate refrigerant gas properly and the system\u2019s output will drop.
