If they are damaged from corrosion or fraying, or their connections have been interrupted, they won\u2019t be able to deliver the electricity as needed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Malfunctioning capacitors<\/strong> \u2013 there are three motors in your air conditioning system: two fan motors and your compressor\u2019s motor. Each one uses two capacitors to start up and stay operational. Should any of the capacitors malfunction or fail, the motor to which the capacitor is attached will, too.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Circuit breaker problems<\/strong> \u2013 your air conditioning system is powerful enough that it requires its own circuit breaker in your electrical box. Sometimes a breaker can be faulty and cause your AC to shut down, or there may be an electrical issue that is causing the breaker to overload and turn off.
